Course Overview:

MIST 5770 focuses on the critical areas of cybersecurity and information systems governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), emphasizing their role in protecting and enhancing organizational value and assets. The course connects theoretical knowledge with practical application through case studies and consultation-oriented presentations. Work outside class and teleconferences with working professionals (such as consultants) are required.

Student Responsibilities:

• Analyze and present solutions to real-world cases provided by industry professionals, including MIS Advisory Board members.
• Deliver in-class presentations to representatives from the organizations that created the cases.
• Participate in weekly 30–45 minute teleconferences with working professionals during the second half of the semester.
• Engage in substantial work outside of class to prepare for presentations and meetings.
